Donovan Harris

Communications Strategist, US Program

Donovan’s work encompasses our priority areas of racial justice, immigration and border policy, and criminal justice, with a special focus on democracy and all the attendant implications.  He works closely with Gerry Johnson, the US Program’s Senior Communications Strategist.

Starting his journey as a storyteller in television journalism, Donovan investigated and reported local and national news in Georgia and South Carolina where he covered social justice concerns including race, voting rights, and other democracy matters.  After transitioning from journalism to strategic communications, Donovan joined the Washington D.C.-based firm Precision Strategies. There, he worked as a digital strategist to amplify the work of a diverse set of clients, including civil rights organizations, nonprofits, Fortune 500 companies, and political campaigns.

With a Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism from the University of Georgia and a Master of Arts degree in Political Psychology from Arizona State University, Donovan bridges the gap between effective storytelling and an understanding of human behavior in the context of politics and society.
