Tom Shaw

Tom Shaw is an intern in the Disability Rights Division at Human Rights Watch.

Tom has a background in research and evaluation in the development sector and, prior to joining HRW, he worked for the International Rescue Committee and the Afghanistan Independent Human Rights Commission, amongst others. He has worked in Afghanistan, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and Guinea-Bissau on issues ranging from livelihoods to governance. Besides this, he has wide ranging experience including in refugee resettlement, disability, and the public sector.

Tom holds an MSc in International Development Studies from Utrecht University and is completing an LLM in Human Rights Law from the University of London. He speaks English, French, and Portuguese.
